Installing Report Builder 2.1 with a Team Developer License
Purpose:
Describe installation process for Report Builder when it is purchased as a part of Team Developer.
Due to confusion expressed by some customers we are outlining the process for installing Report Builder when it has been purchased as part of the Team Developer product, as opposed to the purchase of Report Builder as a separate product.
For customers who have purchased Team Developer and would like to also install Report Builder, which is included in the purchase of Team Developer, the process for installing Report Builder is outlined below.
Insert the Team Developer installation CD. When the Autorun utility launches the Installation Window choose the Team Developer installation. (If you have already installed Team Developer and would like to install only Report Builder you will still need to use the Team Developer installation. The Report Builder installation seen on the Autorun Installation Window is intended for customers who have purchased Report Builder as a separate license.)
Proceed with the installation and enter the CD Key provided for you in this window:
Note: The supplied CD Key is four digits and is required for the first field in the CD Key entry. The second field requires your license number.
After entering the User Information please read and accept the License Agreement.
Next, choose your installation directory. The default directory is "C:\Program Files\Centura" but you may alter this directory for your needs. (If you have already installed Team Developer and are only installing the Report Builder tool then please choose the same directory as your existing Team Developer installation.)
Choose your Program Group name. (If you are installing Report Builder as an addition to Team Developer it is best to use the same name as with your previous installation, as this will place all of your Team Developer tools in the same Program Group.)
The next window you see will list the components of the Team Developer installation.
To install Report Builder you will need to highlight the Development component and click Options. The window which will be brought is below:
Note that Report Builder is not pre-checked as it is not installed by default. You will be required to check the box next to Report Builder so that it will be installed. (Also: Because the Team Developer installation application is not destructive you do not need to worry about deselecting other previously installed components.)
After the Report Builder checkbox is marked you can click "OK" to continue with the installation of Team Developer and the components. After this modification to the installation procedure Report Builder will be installed on your machine.
